Near the closing of each year, CCS seniors take a class trip combining fun, fellowship, service and ministry. This year a group of about 20 students took a 5-day trip to the Cayman Islands.
For part of their trip, the students had a great time at the beach catching some rays as well as swimming with some rays (stingrays). They also enjoyed, snorkeling, jet skiing, and of course, a little shopping!
More meaningful was the time they took to involve themselves in ministering to some of the locals. The group spent time at a daycare/foster home sharing with and teaching Christian songs to the children, involving the children in arts and crafts, and just playing with them on the playground. They also visited a retirement center/nursing home where they interacted with and brought smiles to the faces of the elderly residents through music, listening to their stories and playing games with them. Others of the group assisted in service projects at the center which included yard work, painting, cleaning, and outdoor furniture repair.
The trip concluded with a beautiful sunset banquet and special memories to bring home.
"Our senior trip was a great experience and
a wonderful way to end our senior year."
