New Sideline Chairs Dedicated During Ceremony

Brand new NBA-style sideline chairs were dedicated to the school during a special dinner and dedication ceremony held in the gymnasium on August 28. The purchase of the chairs was made possible through the "Leave Your Legacy" campaign sponsored by the CCS Athletics Booster Club.

The chairs were purchased for $115 each by several CCS families and individuals who purchased them in honor of, or in memory of, a special loved one. Each chair has an engraved plaque on the back to commemorate the loved one. The booster club would like to thank each of these families who made the purchase possible.

As part of the ceremony the booster club dedicated one of the chairs in honor of Linda Carr. "Linda has been an active part of Calvary athletics for a number of years," says Booster Club President Mark Walker, "Her service and dedication to the booster club has been unmatched and she has truly shown her love for Calvary Christian School over and over again." The Carrs have two sons, David and Peter who graduated from CCS.

Each year high schools have the opportunity to nominate one male and one female athlete/scholar from the Senior class based on their excellence in the classroom, on the field, and within their communities.

CCS Athletic Director Honored

CCS Athletic Director John Tucker was humbly surprised when he was recently presented a "Patriotic Employer" award from the US National Guard and Reserve. The award program recognizes deserving employers whose support and good will are important to retaining highly skilled and qualified members of the Guard and Reserve.

Coach Tucker was nominated by CCS soccer coach Sgt. Dan Muns who is currently stationed at Camp Stryker in Baghdad. The award was presented by Army National Guard Liaison
MSG Thomas Sznura at last week's pep rally. Muns' wife, Angela, attended the presentation and read a letter to Coach Tucker written by Dan.

Dan Muns is our varsity boys and girls soccer coach and will be back in July 2006 to resume his coaching responsibilities at CCS.
