CCS Middle School Honors Choir

Congratulations to CCS middle school students who were selected to participate in the Middle School Honors Choir.

Students rehearsed their music prior to a weekend clinic and concert held at Hardaway High School in Columbus. The guest clinician for the weekend workshop was Dr. Elizabeth Parker of the Schwob School of Music, Columbus State University. The middle school "all-select" chorus had well over 400 middle school choir members from Muscogee County and surrounding areas. This was a great honor for our students to be selected to particpate in this event.

Join the Elementary Chorale!
Rehearsals are on Wednesdays, 3:30 - 4:30 pm

CCS invites elementary students to join the Elementary Chorale. This popular after-school elective is open to
3rd - 5th grade students who enjoy singing and learning more about music.

Rehearsals are held after school Wednesdays afternoons,
3:30 - 4:30 pm. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled during the year as we prepare for special concerts and events. Please pick up your child in the gravel parking lot across from the middle school at 4:30 pm.

This activity has no fee associated with it. The only cost to parents will be the cost of purchasing the concert attire which includes a monogrammed shirt and basic black trousers for boys and black skirts for girls.

Did you know CCS offers private piano, guitar and voice lessons on campus as part of our enrichment programs? Applications are being accepted and classes are being scheduled now for this school year. If you have not already registered your child(ren) for any of these music lessons and would like to, please contact the following music teachers.

2009 Spring Choral Concert

Congratulations to the CCS High School choir who won the Share the Hope Award (only award given out) at America Sings for their outstanding community service. They were chosen for this award out of 70 participating choirs. Also, while in Washington, DC, all of the choirs involved in the America Sings event collected a total of 2.5 tons of food, made 2200 peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, and prepared 1900 kits for kids.
