CCS Music Program

Preschool and Elementary Music

The Preschool and Elementary Music Department offers students an opportunity to explore the many aspects of music. Some of the interesting topics covered in the music classes are music theory, instruments of the orchestra, composers, music from around the world, and musicians from the 20th century until now. Several performance opportunities are offered throughout the year.

Third through Fifth graders may participate in our elementary performing chorus, The Knightingales, which rehearses after school once a week. Selected fifth grade students have the opportunity to join a 5th grade ensemble. Both of these groups are featured in special performances throughout the year.

The director of Preschool and Elementary music is
Angie Bacon
and Charity Williamson.

Performance opportunities for these students include District 3 Honor Chorus, ASCI Choral and Solo Festival, GMEA District Choral evaluation, "America Sings," and various school and community venues.
